How do you hhhhhhh self compassion

stella like self-positive stuff alot, but is not easy achieve - if say self-positive stuff when not rly feel it, can make feel hurt more, cause start wonder why not live to own expectation & make words feel empty

so instead! think self-neutral good good start. say if make mistake, can try catch thoughts which call self names & go "hey, why does matter so much? everyone in world make mistake & got struggle" - maybe if look up to someone & think them successful, could ask them silly things they done, or find stories they told of mistakes

so like... self-negative body image maybe like "wow, am gross & ugly", self-positive more like "wow, am so beautiful! rocking that hair!", & self-neutral? "hey, am cool person no matter how look!"

& ofcourse, can just... stay self-neutral in any area, or even all! is all down to how feel best, but stella do think worth atleast acknowledge the "little things" - maybe today feel v sick & unproductive, but why harsh on self? maybe not able cook super nice today, but atleast got some food. maybe not left room today, but atleast able get out of bed. maybe not able get out of bed, but atleast know limits & can do best ensure tomorrow feel bit better.

stella also like perspective where think of "future self" & "present self" as kinda separate entity - like trying do things now (within own limits!) cause know will appreciate tomorrow, or in week, or whenever relevant. maybe means put together week-long meal so can split between days, or take care of trash cause today good energy day & might not tomorrow, or even just sit down & play game cause need save energy for next day - & then (even if feel silly) take moment & say "hey, past me did this while could, v thoughtful!"

self-care & compassion is big journey, esp when ppl been ignorant, harsh, & rude all life... can be rly difficult undo things ppl taught & said. so is important take own pace - not dramatic & quick turnaround like movie, sadly! (actually sadly, cause wish work that way :P)

I kind of found "self love" a bit radical, like it was too big of a step. Some people have recommended reframing it as self tolerance first. It's hard to 180 from self loathing straight into self love. Sometime just being okay with yourself is enough, and it's definitely better than not being okay with yourself. That's what helped me start being chill with existing as a singular person instead of as a ball of emotions in a ill suited vessel. I don't have to love existing or love being me, I just have to be moderately okay with it most times. That helps open the door to actually being able to self love in any meaningful way.

i always take a step back and try to think of myself in the same way I think of others. For most people, you are your biggest critic. Looking at yourself in the way you look at your friends or even strangers can help show you how hard you're being on yourself

It's hard to do. My anxiety used to make me focus on my mistakes and nothing else. Like, getting nervous about something I did wrong 3 years ago.
